Shimla (Jt news) A case has been filed against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on charges of treason. It is alleged that actress Kangana Ranaut has insulted the Constitution of India by calling Dalits rats.
The caste system has been completely abolished from India under Articles 13, 14 and 15 of the Constitution and all citizens have equal status under Article 309 of the Constitution. The petitioner has demanded in his petition that a case of treason should be registered against the actress.
On the other hand, the Superintendent of Police, Shimla, while confirming the receipt of the application, said that the case would be registered only after reviewing all the legal aspects.
It may be recalled that on August 23, Kangana Ranaut had said in a tweet that due to the Indian Constitution, the country has caste as a reservation. When the Dalits protested against his tweet, the actress retaliated by calling him a rat on August 24.
